Lendl unites with athletes from across professional sports to bring pickleball experiences nationwide
(CLEARWATER, Fla. – April 4, 2024) PBX Pickleball, the organization that unites retired professional athletes with the pickleball community, has signed tennis great Ivan Lendl. The eight-time Grand Slam champion and former world No. 1 will join PBX Pickleball as a “PBX Pro,” participating in various pickleball events and adding unparalleled tennis prestige to the pickleball courts.
"Over the past year, I have fallen in love with pickleball and understand why it has taken off in popularity," Lendl said. “PBX offers an incredible opportunity for companies and pickleball players of all levels to play the game in an exciting environment they’ll always remember."
Lendl marks the first professional tennis player to affiliate with PBX Pickleball. He joins a distinguished list of “PBX Pros” from various sports backgrounds, including Baseball Hall of Famer John Smoltz, three-time Olympic gold medal swimmer Brooke Bennett, Basketball Hall of Famer Rick Barry, seven-time All-Star and World Series champion Matt Holliday, four-time World Series champion Tino Martinez, four-time Stanley Cup champion Kris Draper, and many more.
Since launching in 2023, PBX Pickleball has hosted pro-ams and corporate events where participants can play with and against their favorite professional athletes and get to know them off the court through VIP experiences and dinners.
PBX continues to add corporate and pro-am events nationwide for companies, destinations, and facilities. The organization partnered with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) and the NHL Alumni Association to reach athletes across major American sports. PBX also partnered with Parity to reach women athletes across 70+ sports.
