Names Retired NFL Player Brandon Siler as PBX Pro and Pickleball Expert Ryan Sherry as Head Coach
(CLEARWATER, Fla. – Sept. 8, 2023) PBX Pickleball, the organization that unites retired professional athletes with the pickleball community, partnered with Legacy Pro Sports and its founder Brandon Siler and co-founder Ryan Sherry. As part of the announcement, Siler has been signed as a PBX Pro, and Sherry has been named PBX Pickleball’s head coach.
As head coach, Sherry will provide pickleball training for the PBX Pros as they transition from the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, and various Olympic sports to the nation’s fastest-growing sport. Siler is the latest retired NFL player to sign as a PBX Pro, joining Golden Tate and many others. Siler and Sherry attended the first PBX Training Camp in August in Sarasota, Fla.
Sherry also recently signed with the PPA as a professional pickleball player, and Siler was featured in the Netflix documentary titled Untold: Swamp Kings, which was released in August. Siler famously helped lead the University of Florida Gators to the BCS National Championship during the 2006 season.
Under Siler and Sherry’s leadership, Legacy Pro Sports provides assistance for professional athletes to ensure personal, financial, and medical well-being in retirement. The firm will connect its network of retired NFL and MLB players to PBX Pickleball, which has already signed dozens of retired athletes and Olympians to participate in PBX Experiences beginning this fall.
In the PBX Tour, the PBX Pros will represent their respective sports in tournaments for live audiences nationwide. In the PBX Pro-Ams, Deam Weekends, and Corporate Experiences, amateur pickleball players can take to the pickleball courts with the retired stars from baseball, hockey, football, basketball, and other sports.
Advisors for PBX Pickleball include 3x MLB All-Star Kevin Youkilis, 4x World Series Champ Tino Martinez, 2x MLB All-Star Brad Penny, 18-year MLB veteran Kent Mercker, NHL Player, Coach, GM and Team President Paul Holmgren, 4x Stanley Cup Champ Kris Draper, and NFL Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champ Golden Tate.
